LSND 11th Annual Christmas CLE December 11 in Bismarck

Legal Services of North Dakota is holding its 11th annual Christmas CLE December 11 at the Bismarck Radisson Hotel, 605 East Broadway.  It is co-sponsored by SBAND and is approved for six hours of North Dakota CLE credits.  

Sessions will include a presentation on "Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973," by Virginia "Gini" Martin-Hansen; "An Update on American Indian Probate Reform Act (AIPRA) of 2004," by El Marie Conklin; "Domestic Violence in Housing: State and Federal Protections," by Breezy Schmidt, and "Revised Child Support Guidelines - An Overview of the Changes," by Paulette Oberst.

This cost is $90, however it is free for LSND staff and board members, LSND contract attorneys, indigent defense contract attorneys, North Dakota and Tribal public defenders, Office of the Attorney General, SBAND pro bono and reduced fee attorneys, all state court judges, states attorneys and assistance and Tribal court judges and prosecutors. 

Casemaker Offering Free Webinars Every Monday Noon in November

A webinar presenting an introduction to the Casemaker research system is being presented at12 noon (Central time) every Monday in November. The same one-hour webinar is offered every Mondayand it is free to SBAND members and approved for 1.0 CLE Credit.

This webinar includes searching, browsing, and an overview of the content and libraries Casemaker provides. Additionally, the presentation covers key features of the Casemaker system, explains the functionality, and displays the additional products Casemaker has to offer. Before concluding, the webinar also displays the various ways to personalize your Casemaker experience including changing default search settings and accessing additional training tools.

It is being taught by Samantha Peacoe, a member of Casemaker’s customer support team who works out of its Charlottesville, Virginia, office.  She has been conducting Casemaker training sessions twice a week for almost six years, as well as creating videos to demonstrate Casemaker's key features and supplement the training webinars.  Samantha has extensive experience in working with customers and helping them find answers to their questions and problems in a quick and efficient manner.  Samantha understands the daily challenges an attorney faces of time and resources and she takes pride in providing the members the most viable solutions.
