      Position Title: Assistant States Attorney Salary Range: $60,000 - $100,000, Depending on Experience Morton County is currently recruiting an Assistant States Attorney to focus on juvenile and criminal prosecution. This is an invaluable opportunity for applicants who have a genuine desire to see justice prevail. Due to the versatility in County Government, the applicant will gain immediate and first-hand experience in prosecuting demanding and thought-provoking cases while balancing the interests of the victim and the County. Eligible applicants must possess a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and license to practice law in the State of North Dakota. Preference will be offered to applicants who also have experience in juvenile law and/or criminal litigation. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate a proven track record of effectively collaborating with law enforcement officers, resource/support agencies, local government officials, organization’s support staff and other internal/external stakeholders.       Big Stone County is seeking applicants for the position of County Attorney. The office is full-time and located in the Big Stone County Courthouse in Ortonville, Minnesota. Big Stone County has a population of 5,269 and is located on beautiful Big Stone Lake. The County Attorney office consists of the attorney and one full time legal assistant. The starting annual salary range is $88,000 to $100,000 paid bi-weekly as earned, based on experience plus excellent benefits. In addition to other budgetary items and standard office expenses, the county will pay for the County Attorney’s annual law license renewal, MCAA membership, CLEs and travel, food, and lodging for those events, and a legal research program such as Westlaw. After over 25 years of service, the current County Attorney is retiring prior to the end of his term. The position will be open to election in 2018 for a four-year term beginning January 2019. This document review is on a temporary and project basis. Hours will typically be 40-hours per week for the duration of a project.
