2012 Fundamentals of Law Webinar: Confronting Conflicts of Interest

This webinar will provide an overview of conflict of interest issues confronting lawyers. Information will include tips for detecting and avoiding conflicts in different situations, including joining or changing law firms, communicating with prospective clients, engaging new clients, obtaining client consent and disengaging from representation.

Mr. Brent J. Edison
Brent J. Edison is the Assistant Disciplinary Counsel for the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court and Judicial Conduct Commission. He is a frequent presenter and writer on legal ethics topics. Brent received his J.D. Degree, with distinction, University of North Dakota School of Law and his B.S. Degree in business administration, North Dakota State University. Mr. Jacob T. Rodenbiker
Jake is a litigation associate at the Vogel Law Firm in the Bismarck office with involvement in a wide range of legal disputes representing both individuals and business entities. Jake joined Vogel with substantial trial and appellate experience, including over thirty trials and a dozen appeals. Jake received his bachelor of arts degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame and attended summer school at Georgetown University while interning for one of North Dakota's United States Senators. He received his law degree from the University of Minnesota School of Law.
