  • The driver of a motor vehicle towing a [trailer] that is not directly controlled in its movements must exercise ordinary care with respect to the operation, including the method of attachment of the trailer to the towing vehicle, to see that it is properly attached and that the progress of the two vehicles does not endanger or injure others lawfully upon the highway.
