  • Agency is the relationship created when one person, called the principal, authorizes another, called the agent, to act for the principal in dealing with others. Any person may be an agent. An agent may be authorized to do any acts the principal could do, except those requiring the personal attention of the principal. [The relationship of principal and agent can be created although neither the principal nor the agent receives benefit.]
